The fourth Ashes test has started at the picturesque Chester-Le-Street in Durham.
Australia continued from where they left in the 3rd Test whereby their good form almost won them that test. They bowled out England for 238 in their first innings and finished day 2 on 222/5 with Rogers unbeaten on 101.
Rogers is a perfect example of believing in your abilities and never – say – die attitude. After playing first class cricket for 20 years and scoring more than 20000 runs at an average of over 50 he finally got a baggy green and that too in the Ashes.
He has used is experience in playing in England for Middlesex perfectly well and has performed well till now in the series. A fifty in first test and an elegant 84 in third, he finally scored his maiden test hundred for Australia at an age of 35 and became second oldest Australian to score maiden hundred after Arthur Richardson.
Chris Rogers has shown everyone that dreams can come true if you believe in yourself and back your abilities. He has put Australia in a very good position to make a comeback in the series.
We would hope that this belief rubs on to the others in the Aussie dressing room and help bring alive the one sided series til now.
